Harking back to an era when supper clubs abounded in the heartland, Farruggia’s Music and Supper Club is recreating the classic American nightclub in the heart of the scenic Ozarks. In the “old days,” you could dress up for dinner, and you looked forward to that date with that special someone, to hear your favorite local musician. Maybe you were meeting old friends, or making new friends. From the minute you walked in to the supper club, you felt like you belonged. The owner was always there to greet you. Dinner and cocktails were delicious, and you had a chance to dance off your dinner afterwards to beautiful live music.

Nowadays, only a handful of these supper clubs remain.

A members-only club – membership is free!

OUR STORY

On a lazy summer afternoon in August of 2022 a promise was kept.

Newlyweds Kathryn Mientka and Charles Farruggia were wandering

along West Main Street in the picturesque town of Mountain View

when they peeked into the temporarily closed Yesterdaz Music Hall.

Falling in love with the space, they returned later and made an offer.

This would be the location of that mythical music

and supper club they had both been dreaming of,

almost from the moment they met.

Kathryn Mientka, concert pianist, toured Europe and the USA with her late husband, cellist Tyme Mientka, for 20 years before settling down in Colorado to raise a family. They were twice featured on PBS, numerous times on NPR, and won many awards. When Tyme passed away in 2012, Kathryn devoted herself to the concert series and Celtic band they both had founded.

Meanwhile, Charles Farruggia was exercising his talents as an actor, singer, and writer in Colorado, directing a community theater and producing his own plays.  A few years later he was manager/owner of a very successful restaurant in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.

A chance tour brought Kathryn and Charles into contact, and by 2019 they were married and producing their first show together, “Home Sweet Home.”  Based on memoirs of soldiers and the music from the Civil War, the show toured the West and Midwest to critical acclaim, and was awarded the South Dakota Touring Artists Grant. Next they created another show, “Leather and Lace,” combining Charles’ love of the popular songs from the 1940s to the 90s with Kathryn’s brilliant piano solos from the classical literature.

But they dreamed of combining Charles’ restaurant and chef

talents with their music….and on December 2nd of 2022 they opened Farruggia’s Music and Supper Club in

Mountain View, Arkansas.
